Sylvia Doris Broin, age 80 of Cannon Falls, died on Wednesday morning, August 8, 2012 at Angels Care Center in Cannon Falls, where she has been residing since January, 2003. Sylvia was born on November 24, 1931 in Cass Lake, MN, the daughter of Henry and Selma Walker. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Jason; brothers, Orville and Floyd Watson; and sisters, twin Helen Prinzing, Dorothy Culbertson and Elsie Drury. She is survived by her children, Brenda Waldo of Baldwin, WI and Greg Broin of Faribault; grandchildren, Jeremy Broin, Dana, David and Douglas Broin and their families; sisters, Margaret Jawarski of Cottage Grove, Pearl Venier and Mabel Hassinger, both of Duluth, and Erma Hope of Belle Plaine; and nieces and nephews. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Valley Grove Cemetery near Nerstrand.
