Sylvia Griego McManis, age 95, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, January 29, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. Sylvia was a lifetime resident of New Mexico, born in 1916 the only child of Felipe and Ramona Griego. Sylvia is survived by six children; Phillip, Joyce, Marie, Bernice, Hazel, Kenneth and wife, Sharon. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 35 great-great-grandchildren. Sylvia was preceded in death by one son, Bobby McManis and her parents. Sylvia found joy in doing volunteer work in the Foster Grandparent program and in dancing. Sylvia was a dedicated loving Mother and devout Catholic. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 7:00pm at French - University Chapel. A second Rosary, followed by Funeral Mass at San Jose Parish, 2201 Broadway SE on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
