Sylvia Jean Johnson Oliver Palmer, age 65, of Spring Lake, Utah unexpectedly left her earthly home and loving family and returned to her Father in Heaven on Friday, December 23, 2011. Sylvia was born May 15, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah a daughter of Sylvan and Jeanne Johnson, the second of six children. She grew up in Salt Lake, Alpine and Blanding Utah. She lived her adult life in Utah County.

She married Hayden Duane Oliver October 14, 1964 in Spanish Fork, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple. Duane passed away on November 11, 1995. Sylvia married Allen LaVell Palmer on June 19, 2005.

Family was the most important thing to Sylvia. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, four wheeling, camping and boating with her family and many friends. She was happiest when she was in the service of others. She had a giving spirit, fun personality, and was dearly loved by those who knew her. She was active in the LDS Spring Lake ward and loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Survivors include her loving husband Allen Palmer; sons Shane (Rhonda) Oliver, Neil Oliver, and Colton Oliver; siblings Diana Asay, Laurel Reed and Jaren Johnson; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Duane Oliver; parents Sylvan and Jeanne Johnson; grandson Casey J. Alvey; and granddaughter Kaysha Rae Oliver.

Services will be held Thursday December 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Spring Lake LDS Ward Chapel, 12626 South Spring Lake Road, Spring Lake, Utah. A viewing will be held Wednesday December 28, 2011 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Utah. There will be no viewing the morning of the funeral services. Final resting place will be in the Santaquin City Cemetery.
