Teresa Herrera, 71, a resident of Port Saint Lucie for 6 years, departed this life Tuesday, July 26, 2011.
Mrs. Herrera was born in Cuba and moved to Port Saint Lucie from Gastonia, NC. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and Lighthouse (El Faro) International Worship Center.
Mrs. Herrera was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Guy Herrera, father, Manolo Garcia, and grandson, Carlos Montes. She is survived by her mother, Eladia Garcia, of Port Saint Lucie; daughters, Amy Montes, Josie Farias, Susy Mercado, and Bianca DiJoy, all of Port Saint Lucie; and 3 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 31st, at Forest Hills Funeral Homes-Byrd, Young & Prill Chapel in Port Saint Lucie where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, August 1st. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Palm City.
