Terry Martin Hart departed from his mortal life on October 14, 2010 in Decatur, Illinois. He was born on February 12, 1952, the son of William F. Hart, Sr. and Lois D. (White) Hart. Terry was baptized at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Decatur, Illinois and was a member of Our Lady of The Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Mt. Zion, Illinois.
Terry was a star basketball player and graduated from Cerro Gordo High School. He was employed by A.E. Staley Manufacturing Company, but soon became a union pipefitter for Plumbers & Pipefitters Local No. 65, retiring after over 25 years of service. Terry was an accomplished real estate broker and owner of Hart Realty in Decatur, Illinois.
For several years, Terry raised polled Hereford cattle on his farm near Oakley, Illinois. He had a passion for trees, just as his father, and planted them everywhere. He was a talented carpenter, restoring and building many houses. He loved to travel, especially visiting historical sites, such as Gettysburg and Washington, D.C.
Those left to celebrate his life are his daughter, Marie Johnson and her husband Chris; granddaughters, Alexandria and Alissa; brothers, William Hart, Jr., David Hart, Sr., Herbert Hart, Sr., Michael Hart, Sr., Robert Hart, Sr.; sisters, Patricia Brackett, Mary Ann Etnier, and Deborah Webster . He is also survived by 24 nieces and nephews; 36 great nieces and nephews; and 21 great-great nieces and nephews.
Terry was predeceased by his parents, William and Lois Hart; sister, Beverly Hart; and nephew, Herbert Hart, Jr.
Terry was inurned at Calvary Cemetery in Decatur, Illinois on October 23, 2010 alongside his loved ones.

Terry Martin Hart, 58, of Decatur passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2010. Terry was born on February 12, 1952 in Decatur the son of William F. and Lois D. (White) Hart. He worked as a union pipefitter. He married Nancy Jo Moore Layton on June 5, 2008 in Maui, HI. He will be deeply missed by his wife, daughter, and grandbabies and the birds will miss him too. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; daughter, Marie Johnson (Chris) of Decatur; step-son, Matthew Layton of Decatur; step-daughters, Heather Maxey (Eric) of Mt. Zion; Lindsay Layton of Decatur; brothers, William Hart Jr. of Decatur; David Hart Sr.(Bea) of Decatur; Herbert Hart Sr. (Audrey) of Oakley; Michael Hart Sr. of Decatur; Robert Hart Sr. (Marilyn) of Illiopolis; sisters, Patricia Brackett of Decatur; Mary Ann Etnier of Moweaqua; Debbie Webster (Glen) of Moweaqua; four grandchildren, 24 nieces and nephews, 36 great-nieces and nephews, and 19 great-great-nieces and nephews who loved and will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, William F. and Lois D. Hart and a nephew, Herbert Hart Jr. Private service will be held at a later date. The family of Terry Martin Hart is being served by Moran & Goebel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 2801 N. Monroe Street, Decatur, IL.
