Terry and his love of "Liberty" will live forever in my heart. I just learned of his passing today from Jeff Davis (June 9, 2008) and wished to extend my sincerest wishes to his family. I know my words come at such a late date in the minds of most men, however it is only the "twinkling of an eye" in the vastness of time. I left Austin, Texas during Labor Day weekend 2007 to return home to Wichita Falls, Texas to tend to the needs of my aging family. Many times in life we must say goodbye and leave friends behind. I regret that I only contacted Terry one last time months before his passing. I told him of my departure, and my reasons why. Terry understood and wished me a safe trip. His love of friends, family, and his belief in a "live and let live" world truly set him apart from any man I have ever known. I know in my heart that his spirit will find eternal rest in the loving arms of Thy Heavenly Father, Amen.

Terry was a friend of mine for a long time. I first met him when I was looking at places that were clothing optional. I even worked for him a short time when he had the photo lab at New Manor. I knew Libery and Clare and while New Manor was around we were an extended family. He introduced me to the Libertarian party and its philosophy. He will be missed. God bless you Terry.

Terry - I love you, I miss you. Thank you for standing up for me when I was not getting treated fairly in the media world. Thank you for teaching the young people and me how to use Skype to talk to people in Eastern Europe on live access TV. Thank you for teaching us how to use peercasting by using live access television to communicate. Thanks for inviting me into your home to see your home computer networking, before anyone else had it in their homes. You are an inspiration. I will always remember you, Terry.

I met Terry back in 1988 at a job we both had downtown. I still have a handful of friends to this day from this same job. I was 18 then and Terry was there always helping with guidance on various issues as well as always discussing his favorite subject: our liberty. I had never met anyone like Terry before so he lit up the room quite frankly. I immediately sensed that Terry was special. Terry was always a good

I was 18 then and Terry was there always helping with guidance on various issues as well as always discussing his favorite subject: our liberty. I had never met anyone like Terry before so he lit up the room quite frankly. I immediately sensed that Terry was special. Terry was always a good friend and always made me laugh and think. We went to ACLU meetings together as well as weekly meetings at various places around town including Kerby Lane Cafe and Hickory Street Bar & Grill (among others). Being an inquisitive fellow I always had lots of questions for Terry and he always took the time to share his life’s experiences. He told me all about Manor (I had been there actually with other friends/family) and of course about his famous incident out on the lake. And many many other events in his lifetime including time growing up in New York. Terry Liberty Parker always impressed me. He had his society/political views down and was very intelligent about discussing, talking and debating his points. He never lost his cool. I remember visiting Terry at his home at various locations around Austin. Before I bought my first computer in 1989, Terry would let me come by to discuss life, politics, and use his computer to expand my mind. Our talks certainly helped form most of the opinions I have on liberty to this day. And he will surely be missed by many! This news takes me by surprise. I didn’t even know Terry was ill. And it had been a couple of years since I last talked to him. Since I met my wife in 1999 and we started our family, my free time was less and less. I got caught up with that naturally. Terry’s passing comes as a big shock to me and let’s just say I’m not taking this easily.

Thank you, Terry, for what you have meant to me. Within a few minutes of meeting you, I knew the word that described what I was: libertarian. You helped me know myself. More than that, you helped me free my own mind. Trapped and limited by an upbringing in our propaganda-laden culture, I was not allowing myself to think clearly or freely. You opened my eyes to uninhibited thinking and freedom of thought, and they can't take that away from

Terry, I remember our conversations with Bruce Baechler, and our dissection of libertarian principles. It is so rare to find kindred spirits who you can explore philosophical frontiers with. Everyone else, you have to spend hours, months, years bringing up to speed. You were a great man, Terry Liberty Parker. A man of conviction, who sought and found ways to live free in an unfree world. A dependable man who kept his promises. An intelligent, thoughtful man. Rita, you are a good woman, and I know this has been very hard on you. Thank you for all you did, especially these last few months. Goodbye, Terry.

I'm sorry to hear Terry's voice has been silenced. He always seemed to speak from the heart. We need more of that kind of honesty.

Oh how I'll miss my dear friend Terry who gave me so much advice and feedback on everything from politics to computers to women. It was he who explained about twenty seven years ago that what I already believed was libertarian and I've been identifying myself as one ever since. My thoughts and love go out to Rita and Clare from Kabul, Afghanistan.
