Thelma J. Hanson, 99, of Waterville, widow of Lt. Col. Richard C. Hanson of the U.S. Marines, died Wed., April 4, 2012 at her daughter's residence in Waterville. She was formerly a resident of Terra Ceia Golf and Tennis Club in Palmetto, FL for the past twenty years. She was also a member of the Waterville Country Club. She was born Sept. 19, 1912 in Waterville the daughter of Rachael (Rumnia) and Abraham Joseph. An avid golfer for 64 years, Thelma played every day up to one week before her death. Thelma is survived by two daughters, Barbara J. Joseph of Waterville and Sandra J. Sabbag of Palmetto, FL; two brothers and their families, William and Harold Joseph all of Fairfield; two granddaughters, Yasmen Guidoboni and husband Paul and Joyce Mundt and husband John; grandson, Peter M. Joseph Jr.; great-grandchildren, Jack and Abbey Mundt and Thomas Guidoboni. A Liturgy of the Faithful Departed will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Fri., Apr. 13, 2012 at St. Joseph Maronite Catholic Church, corner of Front and Appleton St., Waterville. Formal burial will be held privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Thelma's memory may be made to either St. Joseph Maronite Catholic Church, 3 Appleton St., Waterville, ME 04901, or Hospice Volunteers Waterville Area, 304 Main St., Waterville, ME 04901 or The First Tee of Maine, 58 Val Halla Rd., Cumberland, ME 04021.
