THELMA JUNE HOUTS Thelma J. Houts, age 88 passed away on April 7, 2011 in Vancouver. She was born on June 29, 1922 in Amboy, WA where she grew up and later graduated from Woodland HS. Thelma married Oliver Houts and they made their home in Camas. She was part owner of Ten Mile Tavern for many years and enjoyed playing pinochle with a club. She liked gardening, canning and going to the Moose Lodge with Clyde. Thelma was very involved in raising her young grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver; daughter, Judy Statler and sisters, Verna and Alta. Survivors include her son, Gary (Bobbi) Houts of Camas; special friend, Clyde Downs of Vancouver; sisters, Wanda Turner of Amboy, WA, Laura Delledge of Houston, TX; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 15 at 3pm at the Camas Cemetery. Straub's Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas is in charge of the arrangements.
