Theresa L. Filone, age 56, of Scranton, and formally of Milford, passed away Friday, November 4th. Born in Queens, New York, on July 5, 1955, she was the daughter of Andrew and Theresa Manta Filone. Of Roman Catholic faith, she was a very active member of Mary Mother of God Parish, Holy Rosary Church, Scranton, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She also sang with the Cathedral choir. She visited the sick, served communion at Allied Services, Scranton, and was active with the Cursillo Movement at St. Gabriel’s Retreat Center, Clarks Summit, for the past eight years. A loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend, she will long be remembered for her infectious smile, huge heart, her love for our Blessed Mother and for the New York Yankees. She will be "forever" missed. She was proceeded in death by her beloved brother, Anthony. She is survived by Anthony's widow, Angela; her brothers, Andrew and wife Tina, and John and wife Lorraine; nephews, Anthony and Jeffery; nieces, Andrea and Michelle; and two great-nephews, Vincent and Andrew. She is also survived by her "forever friend" Sharon Beggs and family with whom she resided. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Vincent De Paul Church, celebrated by Rev. Paul Mullen, Pastor. Interment, Milford Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made in Theresa's name to either St. Gabriel's Monastery (631 Griffin Pond Road, Clarks Summit, Clark Summit, 18411) or to the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter (967 Griffin Pond Road, Clarks Summit, 18411).
