Theresa Maria Furman, 50, died Saturday, June 21, 2008 at the Hospice Unit of Ashtabula County Medical Center.

She was born June 7, 1958 in Ashtabula, the daughter of James and Evelyn May (Campbell) Furman and had been a lifelong Ashtabula resident.

Affectionately known to many of her family as “Toady Mouse”, she was a friend to everyone. She loved music, especially listening to Steve Perry and her favorite band, Journey. Theresa enjoyed reading and writing and had always wanted to write a book. A true nature lover, she wouldn’t hurt any animal or bug. She also enjoyed her video games like “Pop-it” and playing on her computer, but nothing meant more to her than sharing time with her family.

Her survivors include three children, Tina Thompson, Trisha Thompson, and Thomas “Tommy” Thompson, all of Ashtabula; three grandchildren, Tasia and Layla Frederick and Owen Brown; her siblings, David (Cathy) Furman, Jean Sesler, James Furman II, and Sharyn (Tony) Platt, all of Ashtabula, Evelyn “GeeGee” (Kenneth) Johnson and Linda (Bill) Seither, both of Geneva, and Sherry (Shawn) Smith of Hayes, VA; and 15 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Funeral Service will be held 12 Noon Thursday, June 26, 2008 at the Zaback-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 West Prospect Road, Ashtabula. Rev. Fr. Philip Miller will preside. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery, North Kingsville.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, June 25 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
