Rev. Thomas Alton Wildman Sr., 89, of Jeffersonton VA, died at his home on Thursday, March 3, 2005. He was born in Gilbert County, West Virginia on May 6, 1915, a son of Thomas Asa and Naomi Wildman. Early in life, he worked in the coal mines in West Virginia. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He graduated from Fairmont State College and then from Western Theological Seminary in 1959. He had been a shop teacher at Fauquier High School. His ministry, which began in 1949 took him first to churches in Marion County, WV, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Locally he served Trinity United Methodist Church in Catlett. He was a former member of Catlett Volunteer Fire Department and was an avid hunter and fisherman. His wife, Cymantha Lucinda Wildman and a son, Charles W. Wildman preceded him in death. He is survived by five children; Rosa A. McElroy of Fairmont, WV, Thomas A. Wildman Jr. of Millinocket, ME , Cookie A. Wildman of Fredericksburg, VA, Robert A. Wildman of Jeffersonton, VA and Patricia A. Jeffries of Culpeper. Also surviving is a sister, Edna Wildman of Akron, OH, twenty grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at Moser Funeral Home, 233 Broadview Ave, Warrenton. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 7, 2005 at 2 pm at Jeffersonton Methodist Church, with Rev. Lynn Wilbur officiating. Interment Catlett Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Rapidan, P.O. Box 1715, Culpeper VA 22701 or to the NRA, 11250 Waples Mill Rd., Fairfax VA 22030.
