THOMAS BRUCE (TOM) KUNKLEMAN Sr., 85, of 17211 West Washington Street, Hagerstown, Maryland, died Saturday, January 9, 2010 at his home. Born December 25, 1924 in Shady Grove, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late John and Mae Ott Kunkleman. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-seven years, Dorothy Elizabeth Kunkleman, who died on April 14, 2004. He retired in 1986 from the Western Maryland Railroad after thirty- six years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was a member of Morris Frock American Legion Post No. 42. Thomas is survived by seven daughters, Deborah M. Jackman of Austin, TX, Sue E. Brant and husband, Jerry, Kathy J. Pickens and husband, Randy, Karen D.Grosh and husband, Tommy, Patti A. Leazier and husband, Doug, Jodi McIntire and husband, Troy all of Clear Spring, MD and Stacey L. Walters and husband, Mike of Maugansville; one son, Thomas B. Kunkleman, Jr. and wife, Karen of Williamsport, MD; one brother, John Kunkleman; nineteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry W. Kunkleman; three sisters, Clara Hecker, Kate Hammer and Allie Wolfe; four brothers, Ben, Kunkleman, Charles Kunkleman, Paul Kunkleman and Jerry Kunkleman. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 224 West Washington Street, Hagerstown, MD. The Rev. George A. Limmer will be celebrant. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. Military graveside services will be conducted by Morris Frock American Legion Post No. 42. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD from 6 to 8 p.m. Prayers will be recited at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland 21742.
