Services for Thomas Cherry (T.C.) Houston, 87, of Cooks Point, are scheduled for 10 am, Saturday, July 2 2011, at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell, with Rev. Rick Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at Masonic Cemetery under the care and direction of Strickland Funeral Home of Caldwell. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 1, from 6 to 8 pm also at the funeral home. Mr. Houston passed away on June 25 at his home in Cooks Point surrounded by loved ones. T.C. was born September 26, 1923, to Ury Lee Houston and Willie Rubie Cherry Houston, in Caldwell, Texas. He was a member of the First Baptist church in Caldwell, president for four years of the American Legion men's organization, and president of the Port Houston Civic Club, Houston, Texas. He enjoyed wood working and vacuum repair and sales shop. T. C. loved dancing, especially polka and waltz. He is survived by his wife Adelle Houston of Cooks Point, sons and daughters-in-law; Thomas and Sue Houston, Jerry and Lee Houston and Charles and Cathy Houston. grandchildren; Cherry Sue Daigle, Scott Houston, Travis Houston, Joshua Houston, Frank Neal, Jennifer Dockery, Charlene Rathjen, Sara Bell, great grandchildren; Tyler Houston, Kylee Houston, Amber Cryer, Aaron Gunnels, Desmond Daigle, Kelsey Daigle, Beau Dockery, and Kaedyn Bell. He is preceded in death by grandson David Neal. The family suggest memorials be made to the American Legion Hall, Caldwell, Texas.
