Mr. Thomas E. Hutcheson, 81, died Monday morning (October 26, 2009) at his residence in Jamestown after an extended illness. He was a native of Appling County, but he has lived most of his life in Waycross. He retired from CSX Railroad in 1991 as a Carman after 41 years of service. He also served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Sweat Memorial Baptist Church. He is the son of the late Hilton Hutcheson and Vera Jones Hutcheson. He is also preceded in death by one sister, Nadine Hughes. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Ethel Brantley Hutcheson of Waycross; one son, Steven Hutcheson of Waycross; one brother, Darrell Hutcheson of Mt. Dora, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. Wednesday (October 28, 2009) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends the hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at www.musicfuneralhome.com.
