Tom was born and raised in Redding, CA. His family moved to Yuba City when he was 17 where he graduated from Yuba City High School. He also attended Yuba College where he studied Criminal Justice. Tom worked in sales for 29 years, specializing in wood products such as molding, doors and windows. Tom, Jennifer and their son, Tyler, moved to Portola in 2002 from Sacramento. He enjoyed golfing, hiking with his dogs, mountain biking, fishing, cross country skiing and remodeling homes. Many new him best as the man who always had a smile on his face, a Hawaiian shirt on his back, and shorts on his legs. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer and son, Tyler Atkins of Portola. His parents Ronald and Joanne Atkins of Yuba City, CA. His brothers Bob Atkins of Sacramento and Rick Atkins of Yuba City. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 14 at 1:00 P.M. at the New Life Christian Center in Portola. Because of Tom's love for animals Memorial Contributions can be made to the Humane Society.
