Thomas (Tom) Marshall DeJarnatt, 68, of Owensboro, KY died Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at his home. He was born in Daviess County, KY on July 19, 1945. Tom was a warehouse manager with the Daviess County Public School System and a member of Bridgepointe Church. He was a volunteer with Mentor Kids and could be found serving our community as a baseball and softball umpire for over 23 years and teaching the importance of school bus safety with "Buster the Bus". He was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin M. DeJarnatt. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Kay DeJarnatt; two daughters, Robin (Steve) Carlisle of Owensboro and Kristyn (Daniel) Wainright of Lyon, France; a son, Doug DeJarnatt of Bowling Green; his mother, Mildred Ernestine DeJarnatt of Owensboro; seven grandchildren, Ryan Christopher DeJarnatt of Bowling Green, Elisia Madison DeJarnatt of Willisburg, Benjamin Aaron (Rachel) Carlisle of Louisville, Alexis Mackenzie Carlisle of Owensboro, Nora Katelynn Wainright, Anna Leigh Wainright and Ella Grace Wainright all of Lyon, France; a brother, George L. DeJarnatt (Dana) of Seattle, WA; two sisters, Barbara G. DeJarnatt of Owensboro and Rebecca K. DeJarnatt (Herb) of Louisville; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2014, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation is from 2:00-6:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
