Thomas P Karleskent, 58, went into the hands of the Lord at his home November 13, 2012. He was born on July 7, 1954 in Utica, the son of the late Cecile (Chapple) and Edward Karleskent. He graduated from T.R. Proctor high school in 1973. On July 2, 1986 he was married to Elizabeth Roberts. He honorably served in the United States Marine Corps and in the NY Army National Guards. He worked for Bernie Bus Company for 11 years, before becoming ill. He was an active CB handler for over 30 years, his handle was Sledgehammer. He was also associated with the Utica Auxiliary police for several years. Survivors include his beloved wife, Elizabeth Karleskent; his son Joseph Karleskent; his step-children, John Solan, Shirley Solan and David Solan all of Utica; four sisters, Cecile and Kenneth Iffert of Long Lake, Patricia and Richard Goico of Schuyler, Betty Karleskent of Frankfort and Roxanne Lanaux of Utica. He also leaves several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews behind and his two special friends Ronald and Kristine Goff. Funeral services will be Friday, 10:30 a.m., at Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, Forty Main Street, Whitesboro, NY. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
