Thomas "Tom" Leroy Emahiser, 68, of Waterville, OH died December 23, 2012 at The University of Michigan Hospital. He was born July 18, 1944 in Toledo, OH to Donald and Rita (Wotring) Emahiser.
Tom was a member of Waterville United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked as a salesman selling steel, boats, and computer products. He was very involved in his children's lives and served as a football coach for several years. He loved the water and spent many years boating on Lake Erie. He loved to make people laugh. After his heart transplant he enjoyed mentoring other transplant patients. His family is very grateful to his heart donor for giving us an extra 8 years of life.
He married Anna (Scheub) November 26, 1999. She survives along with children, Rob Emahiser, Don (Marcie) Emahiser and Jeni (James) Anderson all of Goshen, IN, Alaina Hem and Matthew Emahiser both of Waterville, OH, Jeff Bennett of Virginia and Mark (Toni) Bennett of Toledo, OH, grandchildren, Lexi and Ethan Emahiser and Alyah and Noah Anderson, and siblings, Craig (Theresa) Emahiser, Sheryle (David) Fielding, Kim Jones, Kelly Turley and Kevin (Jackie) Emahiser. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Tommy.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Waterville United Methodist Church, Waterville, OH. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Grand Rapids, OH. Memorial contributions can be given to the church or to Donate Life Ohio. Please visit www.peinertfuneralhome.com to leave a memory.
