Thurman Ward, 77, of Bryant, Arkansas and Fairdealing, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, July 5th, 2011. He was born in Crenshaw, Mississippi on March 18th, 1934 to Homer and Emma (Lott) Ward. A pastor and evangelist for over 40 years, Thurman spent his life living the great commission. He wanted everyone to hear the gospel. Being a Godly man, he raised his children in the love of the Lord and enjoyed every minute he spent in the company of his wife and his family.
Thurman was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Emma Ward; his son Dennis Ward; his grandson Davey Ward and his grandson Isaac Byrd; his sister Ellie Dupuis and his brother Homer E. Ward.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of over 59 years, Pansy (Pat); his children Glen (Joy) Ward of Bryant and Patricia (Shelby) Byrd of Warm Springs, Ar; two brothers Rick (Karen) Ward and Wilfred (Lynn) Ward; three sisters Hattie Ashworth, Cora Clemmer and Ruth (Jimmy) Mangrum; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends, all who will miss him dearly.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 9th at 11:00 a.m. at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home with Brother Dan Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 6:30-9:00 p.m. on Friday, July 8th, 2011 at Forest Hills, 10200 Highway 5 North, Alexander, Arkansas 72002 (501)455-1067.
