Tom did not face death without facing God. Tom knew that God and only God alone could guide him through the valley. And he knew that only God was committed to getting him home safely. Jesus said: "There are many rooms in my Father's house, I would not tell you this if it were not true. I am going there to prepare a place for you. After I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me so that you may be where I am" (John 14:2-3). He pledges to take us home. He does not delegate this task. He reserves the job for himself. I remember Tom's last posting in his journal that he felt something big was happening, he wasn't quite sure what it was...maybe all the positive prayers and energy being sent his way. I believe the something big was God preparing him for the wonderful journey he would have going to his eternal resting place in heaven. He has his wings now, is at peace and without pain. Even though he is not with us physically, he will always be with us in spirit. Many tears will turn to smiles as he is remembered....until we can share the smiles with him in person again. Prayers and blessings to Kristi, Fred, and all his family.......to include the extended one. Tom is loved by so many, this will never change.
