Tom J. Avery, 63, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2012 at his residence in Rockford, Illinois. Born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and a native of Yonkers, New York, Tom was a chemical engineer that had a love of science and was a devoted son and father. Surviving are his daughter, Erika (Ben) Franze of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Tom was preceded in death by father, Curt Avery and mother, Gerda Avery. Private service will be held and burial will be in the Jewish Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Arrangements by D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue.
