Tomm Garrett

Services for Tom Garrett, 87, of Lubbock will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 15, 2010 in Sanders Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Ben Cartwright officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.

Mr. Garrett passed away on December 11, 2010.

Tom Garrett, Jr. was born June 23, 1923 in Miami, TX to Thomas and Margaret Garrett. He moved with his family to Lubbock in 1925. He served in the U.S. Air Corp during World War II and later re-enlisted in the U.S. Air Force retiring as a Master SGT E7 after 21 years. He then was a warehouse supervisor for the Lubbock State School. Walking at the Mall gave him great pleasure and he developed many friendships with his fellow Mall Walkers.

Survivors include his nephews, Clancy Martin of Lubbock, Maurice Martin of Ruidoso, NM and Dorsey Martin of Royce City.
