William F. (Trey) deTournillon III joined his younger brother in heaven on Friday the 22nd of October. Trey was only 31 years old and died of a truly broken and injured heart. Trey was an extraordinary writer and speaker, talented artist, engaging and giving to all, and lover of life. He was an Eagle Scout, active in theatre, United Methodist Youth Fellowship, Spirit Wind, and Young Life. He graduated with honors from Lubbock High and then attended SMU where he obtained a degree in cinema. Trey was a proud member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity at SMU. He passionately pursued his dreams of film making in Los Angeles, Dallas, and Austin; He then chose Ashville NC for his home. It fit Trey perfectly and allowed him to pursue his next dream, to become an art therapist in the field of recovery. Trey’s life was filled with adventure, travel, love, challenges, and opportunity. Everybody who knew Trey loved his outgoing and fun loving personality. He NEVER met a stranger. We will miss him dearly but know he is in a much better place with his brother Dennis along with his Granny and Dado who both passed away earlier this year. Join us in celebrating his life this Friday at 2:00pm in the Christian Life Center of First United Methodist Church in Lubbock. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Lubbock Area Young Life, 3202 34th Street, Lubbock, TX 79410 or the CLC Building Fund at First United Methodist Church, 1411 Broadway Avenue, Lubbock, TX 79401
