1. I spent the summer of 1964 lifeguarding at Winwood Lake. Tudy was a regular. I remember early that summer I saw him dive from the top of the water slide into the deep part of the lake. It seemed at the time like it was 100 feet tall but realistically was probably 20 or 30 feet. It was an egregious violation of every rule of safety and common sense. It was also one of the more studly things I had ever seen. Rather than banning him for life from Winwood, we bacame friends and that summer of 1964 was maybe the best summer of my life. Tudy was a big part of it.
