Black, Twila May, 88, passed away June 21, 2011. She was born July 1, 1922 to John Andrew and Fay Violet (Kramm) Putnam in Herington, KS. Twila was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star and a charter member of Reformation Lutheran Church where she was active in many circles of the church. She worked for USD 259 for 25 years as a supervisor in the food service department. Twila travelled the world to destinations like Israel, Germany, England, and visited Russia to hand out bibles for Revival Fires Ministries. She enjoyed baking and decorating cakes and in her later years, became an avid quilter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard GF Black; and grandsons, Philip and Curtis. Twila is survived by her children, Connie (Leonard) Stowell, Ronald (Janet) Black, and Galen (Shanna) Black; sister, Donna Buck; 7 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Visitation: Friday, 5 – 8 pm at Lakeview Funeral Home. Funeral: 10 am, Saturday, at Reformation Lutheran Church. Burial to follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Reformation Lutheran Church, 7601 E. 13th St. N., Wichita, KS 67206.
