Valencia "Lynn" Ibarra was born on October 16, 1960 in St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Arthur L. Carter and Blanchie Lee Carter who both preceded her in death. Lynn attended schools in the University City School District and graduated from Job Corps in 1978. She married Allen Smith in 1982 and to this union was born three children: Chantel Smith, Alisha Smith and Belinda Smith. In 1985 Lynn relocated to Texas where she was employed by Hilton International for many years. Lynn was an avid reader and had a passion for writing. While residing in Dallas, Lynn attended Richland College to pursue a degree in Education. While living in Texas, Lynn met and married David Ibarra in 2001. She later returned to Missouri where she opened "All About You Beauty Supply" in Poplar Bluff. In addition to being an entrepreneur, Lynn enjoyed farming and became an enthusiastic horse-back rider. At an early age, Lynn accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She joined Mount Calvary Power House Church in 2009 under the leadership of Pastor Webb. Lynn departed this life on November 15, 2011. She leaves behind her husband David Ibarra as well as her siblings: Angela Thornton (Bernard), Garvin Carter, Ernest Carter, Anita Carter-Foley, Donna Pratt (Marlon), and Angela (Arthur), Ivan, Glenn, and Sandra. She also leaves 6 grandchildren, one god-daughter, Hannah Watson, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
