Van Vestel Caudill of Elkton died Saturday, June 16 at his home. He was 76. Born in Sparta, NC he was the son of the late Bert and Stella (Hamm) Caudill. Mr. Caudill was a self-employed carpenter, he was a member of Welcome Home Free Will Baptist Church, he enjoyed deer hunting, singing and playing his guitar every day. He is survived by his wife Joyce L. (Phipps) Caudill, sons; Randy L. Caudill of Havre de Grace, Paige W. Caudill of Middleburg, PA, and I. Ward Caudill of Elkton; daughters, G. Faith Almony of Havre de Grace, L. Hope Wilfong of Port Deposit, D. Charity McGonigal of North East, and Pamela J. Eckman of Peach Bottom, PA; brother, Dennis Caudill of Churchville; 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his son Bradley W. Caudill (2011), three brothers, and two sisters. A memorial service conducted by Rev. Amos Richardson will be held on Saturday, June 23 at 11am at Welcome Home Free Will Baptist Church in Bel Air.
