Mrs. Vanessa Colbourn

In loving memory of a very dear and loving friend. I remember meeting Vanessa and her girlfriend one evening and we dined, danced and laughed the night away as if we had been friends for many years. I fondly called Vanessa “ Pretty Black”. What a radiant spirit and genuine person. Deep in the stillness I can hear her laughter and see that beautiful smile. She always took the time to contact me and sincerely ask how I was doing.

I fondly called Vanessa “ Pretty Black”. What a radiant spirit and genuine person. Deep in the stillness I can hear her laughter and see that beautiful smile. She always took the time to contact me and sincerely ask how I was doing. Vanessa will always be an inspiration to me and our conversation helped me get thru some of the toughest times. I know that she is are watching over us from up above. She, will be missed but her memory will last me a life time.

Once in a while we are blessed to have an angel who enters into our lives. Vanessa you were that angel. You were always there to listen and offer the advice we needed. "You might not like what I have to say...." You didn't hold back the words so many would have but gave it to us so straight. Your strength and courage will be missed by so many so loved you.

My prayers go to Vanessa's family during this time as you say 'Goodbye' to a wonderful, caring and lovable person. Vanessa will truly be missed by so many.

It seems so unreal that you are gone. Your smile and your presents made every day bright. I feel that I have been blessed to have known someone like you. It hurts me lot to say goodbye.

I remember it all and I will miss your great big smile and your loud greeting of "Hey Sexy" when I walked into a room. I love you and I will always remember.

I know she was also a very hard worker who loved her two children so very much!! She always had pictures @ her desk of the kids and spoke highly of their athletic abilities. She was so grateful to her mother for staying with her! (as well as ALL family and friends)
I will be there Thursday to pay my respects and have the visit I missed before her passing. I know she is pain free now up in the Heavens..."You will be missed but never forgotten. Much Love to you miss 'V'...from your forever friend'T'".

When Vanessa joined BAE Systems after her Navy retirement we worked together in Newington VA. For Vanessa birthday I contacted her mother to obtain a picture of Vanessa so I could have it printer on her birthday cake. Vanessa will always have a special place in my heart.
