ATKINS, VAUN BARROWS Long term resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Vaun Atkins, 85, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2011, after a short illness. He is survived by his wife, Loretta; his daughters, Amy Atkins, Anita Prince and his son David Atkins; granddaughters, Heather Benson, Jeannette Baldinelli; and grandson, Sky Atkins and 5 great-grandchildren. Vaun was retired from Sandia National Laboratories and served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. A private memorial will be held in the spring. Memorial contributions can be made to the Southwest Literacy Foundation at 200 Rosemont NE, Albuquerque, NM, 87102.
