VIANO, Velia A. (DiNorscia) Of Middleton formerly of Belmont August 5, Beloved wife of the late Arthur A. Viano. Val was born in 1918 in Madison, Maine, the third of four children. She graduated from Madison High School and then moved to Boston, where she worked while completing her studies at the Bryant and Stratton Business School. In 1946, she married Arthur A. Viano of Viano Theatres and Real Estate, Inc. She lived with her husband and family for 40 years in Belmont, Massachusetts

Val was the mother of Maryjean Viano Crowe, and Bette Viano Porter; and the late Joyce Viano Ruberti :mother-in-law to William Porter and grandmother to Gabriel Porter. She was sister to Janet Kuykendall of Indianapolis, Indiana, and aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Val was very active in the Belmont Women’s Club for many years. Val also taught classes in hors d’oeuvres making (called “Canapé Capers") and holiday wreath making, with all proceeds going to charity and to beautify the clubhouse.

In 2003, Val published a memoir of her life, I laughed and I Cried.
