Mrs. Velma B. (MacDougall) Murray, a resident of Malden for over 60 years, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday evening, September 21, 2011, at age 89.

Born in Medford on November 24, 1920, she was one of four daughters of the late Harry C. MacDougall and Alice (Dyment) MacDougall.

A homemaker, Mrs. Murray lived most of her life in Malden. She enjoyed sewing, rug making, politics and making lampshades. She was especially adept at making braided and hooked rugs. Velma will be lovingly remembered as a caring and thoughtful mother who liked to do things her own way.

Velma was the beloved wife of the late George W. Murray. Devoted mother of Judith A. Lepine and her late husband John of Weymouth.

Funeral Service at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose, Monday, September 26 at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
