Velma Jean Wright (Moore), 73, of Fort Wayne Indiana went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, November 9, 2011.She was born on May 19, 1938 at the family farm in Lincoln County, KY. to Herbert Elwood and Lucy Bell Moore (Campbell) who preceded her in death. She is survived by 5 siblings, Elizabeth Joann (Jerry Smith) of Hustonville, KY, Lowell Thomas (Betty), Harlow Wayne, both of McKinney KY, and Harold Dean (Thelma)Stanford KY; she was preceded in death by a brother, William Alonzo; sister-in-law, Jane Sears Moore; and great-grandchild, Henry Doerfler. Velma graduated from McKinney High School and moved to Cincinnati Ohio to work as a long distance operator in 1956 where she met her future husband, Jackie D. Wright of New Castle, IN. They were married on March 22, 1957 in Cincinnati. Velma currently resided in Fort Wayne, Indiana and is also survived by her children, Jackie Lynn (Layne Christlieb), and Leslie Karen (Richard Miller); grandchildren, Samantha Nicole (Carl Doerfler) of Chicago, Nickolas D. Sharin (Tiffany) of Fort Wayne, Amanda Jean (Shawn Baney), Corporal Luke G. Sharin USMC (Latrisha) of North Carolina, Joseph D. Miller (Lindsay) of Cygnet, OH Jacob T. Sharin (Whitney) of Fort Wayne, step-grandchildren, Shawn Sharin (Emily) of Fort Wayne, Shane Christlieb and Alyssa Christlieb (Churubusco). Velma was blessed with 11 great-grandchildren; and 4 step-great-grandchildren. Velma had 13 nephews and 7 nieces. Velma enjoyed being surrounded by her family. She was known as Granny, Big Gran, and GG to all her grandchildren and most of their friends. She possessed a loving heart and kind soul to all she met. She was a strong woman who suffered from Rheumatoid Arthritis for over 45 years. Through it all, she instilled strength, honesty, and love for God in her family. She will be greatly missed by all who ever knew her. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Waynedale Baptist Church, 633 Lower Huntington Road with viewing one hour prior. Calling also from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, at D.O. McComb and Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Ave.
