Mrs. Velma Ruth Steitle Livingston was born in San Antonio,Texas on September 11, 1927. Her interests were painting , crocheting baby blankets,sewing receiving blankets to donate to the Methodist Hospital of San Antonio.
Preceded in death by her husband John Robert Livingston (whom she married on December 24,1943) parents Henry Ernest and Julia Hatch Steitle,siblings Clara Smith,Louise Jacoby,and Henry E. Steitle Jr., she is survived by her children Bobbie McFadden and Harvey, Linnie Livingston Ray and Jon Ray, John Robert Livingston Jr. and Terry Abate. Grandchildren Melissa McFadden Wenzel and Steven Wenzel, Andrea McFadden,Amy Ray Curtis and Michael Curtis, Jennifer Ray ,Kristen Livingston, John Robert Livingston III and Karissa Coburn,great grandchildren Katherine Wenzel,Collin Wenzel,Andrew Curtis.
In addition to taking care of her home ,raising her children,and caring for her parents,Velma worked as a professional artist in San Antonio for about 40 years.
Her paintings reflected her love of the Texas hill country. Many of her paintings featured bluebonnets and live oak trees.She was a member of the Helotes Art Guild and the River Art Group of San Antonio.Velma will be missed by her family and friends.
