Verna J. Green, age 83, of 635 Oakhill Ave, Plymouth, Indiana, passed away at 4:40 p.m., Thursday, May 5, 2011, at Miller's Merry Manor, in Plymouth. Verna was born on February 18, 1928, in Elkhart County, Indiana, to Lowel and Grace (Eby) Holmes. On July 24, 1948, Verna and Wayne M. Green were united in marriage, at the Twin Branch Church of Christ, in Mishawaka, Indiana. Verna worked for Uniroyal, in Mishawaka, for 30 years. She and Wayne enjoyed traveling in their motor home. They visited many places; including Florida, Texas, and Arizona. They would set up their vegetable, fruit, and sausage stand, along the way on their trips. Verna will be deeply missed by her loving family. Verna is survived by her son, Rick (Deb) Green of Plymouth; her grandson, Jason Case and his fiancée Jami Jenkins of Indianapolis; her great-grandchildren, Abby Case and Lucas; her sisters, Lois Pawlowski, Doris Chaffee, Gloria Fulmer, and Elaine Smith; her brothers, Levon Holmes, Royce Holmes, Larry Holmes, and Dennis Holmes. Verna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne; and her brother, Wayne R. Holmes.
