Verna Maye Harris, 64, of Elizabeth, New Jersey, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2011 at Trinitas Hospital, Elizabeth. She was born in Richmond, Virginia and lived in New York, before moving to New Jersey many years ago. She had lived in Elizabeth since the early 1960s. Verna was employed as a Sales Associate for N & S Slip Factory Department Store in Newark for eighteen years. She was predeceased by her husband, John Harris and son, Tommie Pryor. Surviving are her daughter, Michelle Dixon of Elizabeth; three grandchildren, Tommie A. Smith, Nariyah N. Simms and Clifford F.
