Vernetta M. Winter, age 95 years of Bradenton, Florida formerly of Onsted passed away Monday, July 27, 2009 in Bradenton. She was born on October 21, 1913 in Dearborn, the daughter of Thomas and Clara (Wolfeid) Lapham. Vernetta married her high school sweetheart Ronald Winter on August 12, 1932 in Onsted. Together they owned and operated a Standard Oil dealership in the Onsted area for many years. He went to be with the Lord on October 5, 1967. She was a former member of the Gateway Community Church. Vernetta is survived by two daughters, Diana Mohr of Tavares, Florida and Joan (Henry) St Onge of Palmetto, Florida, 4 grandchildren, Rick Richardson of Brooklyn, Deborah (Greg) Wise of Onsted, Donita (Kim) Lamarand of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Greg (Julie) Richardson of Sarasota, Florida, 7 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Vernetta's family was her biggest joy in her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 brothers, 3 sisters and son-in-law, Donald Mohr. Funeral Services for Vernetta will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 31, 2009 at the Dunn Chapel, Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Onsted with Pastor Tom McMichael officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Shade Cemetery in Onsted. Visitation will be held Friday from noon till 2:00 P.M. Memorials are suggested to the Onsted Fire Department. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
