Vernon Allen Clowers, 73, of Searcy went to be with our Lord May 2, 2013. He was born February 10, 1940 to Althey and Coy Clowers of Bald Knob. He spent most of his childhood in White County until he left and met his wife Lily Fern Shannon in Michigan and they were married on February 25, 1961. He worked many jobs from truck driving to farming and running ranches. He was a loving father and friend to many people who will cherish his memories and mourn his loss.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lily Fern Clowers; two sons, David Lynn and Rodney Wayne Clowers of Searcy, Arkansas; two daughters, Sandra Belinda Cooper of Jacksonville and Rebecca (Becky) Ann Clowers of Fresno, California; one daughter-in-law, Ginger Lynn Woods Clowers of Searcy; son-in-law, Ron Allen Cooper of Jacksonville; six granddaughters, Lacie Clowers, Heather Clowers, Michell Scroggs, Shannon Scroggs, Katie Cooper, and Casandra Cooper; two grandsons, John Scroggs and R.J. Cooper; one great granddaughter, Alexia Scroggs; one great grandson, Guyland Cooper; three sisters, Alice Medean Byrd, Kathy Bernice Martin, and Debra Jean Kusler; two brothers, George Clowers and Chester Clowers; four sister-in-laws and four brother-in-laws as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Allen Clowers; daughter-in-law, Brandy LeAnn Padilla Clowers; grandson, David Jeremiah Clowers Jr.; parents, Althey and Coy Clowers; mother and father –in-law Alma and Lawrence Shannon; three brother-in-laws, Robert Martin, Ralph Byrd, and Steve Shannon; one sister-in-law, Rex Clowers.
Viewing hours are 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2013 at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Antioch Cemetery.
