Vernon "Pudgy" Byrd, age 62 of Clinton, met the Lord on March 23, 2012. He was of the Baptist faith. Pudgy was the owner and operator of Top Gun Racing Engines since 1991. He enjoyed fishing and loved to watch his grandsons playing ball.
Preceded in death by his father, Vernon I. Byrd, Sr.; mother, Naomi Stiles Dile; brother, Steve Hicks
Wife of 21 years: Ada Goins Byrd
Daughter: Stephanie Sherwood and husband Mike
Step-son: Bradley Applegate and wife Christie
Step-daughter: Brandi Snyder and husband Jeremy
Sister: Linda Brown
Grandchildren: Austin, Blake, Taylor, Adrian, Riley, Kaylie and Tommy
Niece: Michelle Hicks
Nephews: Jeff Nichols
Special Friends: Joel Bayless and Bob Crawford
The family will receive friends Sunday, March 25th from 5-7PM at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral service will follow with Rev. Bobby Goins officiating. Graveside service will be Monday, March 26th at 2:00PM at Jarnigan Chapel Church cemetery. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. www.holleygamblefh.com
