Vernon I. Olli, 74, of 2011 County Road 456, Little Lake, passed away Thursday morning September 15, 2011 at his home under the care of his loving family and U.P. Home Health and Hospice. Mr. Olli was born on July 27, 1937 in Marquette, a son of the late Pete and Betty (McCormick) Olli. He retired from the L.S. & I. Railroad after 43 years of service. Vern enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events. He is survived by his wife, Judy, whom he married on June 23, 1962 at St. Louis the King Catholic Church in Harvey; three children, Randy (Cindy) Olli of Manistique, Cathie Olli of Marquette and Mike Olli of Little Lake; 12 beloved grandchildren, Liz and Nick, Scott, Ryan, Adam, Allie, Jake and Cody, Casey, Dylan, Rebecca and Matthew. At Vern's request a private family memorial service will be held at a later date. The Canale-Gwinn Funeral Home is assisting the family where memories may be shared at www.canalefuneral.com
