A Funeral Mass for Vicki Lynn Mabe Chmelar, 58, of Caldwell is set for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 11, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Caldwell with Father Brion Zarsky officiating. A visitation will be held earlier Friday the 10th from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m., with a Rosary being led at 6:00 p.m., at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell. Ms. Chmelar passed away February 7, 2012 at Scott and White Hospital in Temple. Vicki was born October 6, 1953 to Wesley Mabe and Bonnie Donaho. She later married her true sweetheart, Joseph Raymond Chmelar on February 14, 1978. Vicki worked at and retired from both Moore Business Forms and the Burleson County Sheriff's Office where she worked as a dispatcher. She continued part-time with the Caldwell Housing Authority. Vicki is survived by sons and daughters-in-law; Todd James Chmelar and wife Erica of Caldwell, Texas, Shannon Kelley and wife Shawn of Dallas, Texas, grandsons; Cameron Banks and Gavin Chmelar of Caldwell, Texas, sister; Brenda Andrews and husband Bill of North Zulch, sisters and brothers-in-law, Joan and Wayne Albrecht of Goliad, Texas, Elaine and Dale Shaw of Caldwell, Texas, Jamie and Sherri Chmelar of Caldwell, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, step-father; Dimmie Johnson, father and mother-in-law; Emanuel and Agnes Chmelar, and nephew; David Albrecht. The family suggests memorials be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 509 N. Thomas, Caldwell, Texas 77836. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Strickland Funeral Home of Caldwell.
