Funeral Mass for Victor Blas Lara, 78, of Rosenberg, Texas will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, February 21, 2009 at St. John Fisher Catholic Church, 410 Clay St. in Richmond with interment following in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Father Manuel La Rosa Lopez will officiate the services.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Friday, February 20, 2009 with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg.
Victor was born July 28, 1930 in Goliad to Blas and Clemencia (Jimenez) Lara. He was a member of St. John Fisher Catholic Church. Victor passed away February 17, 2009 in Richmond.
He is preceded in death by his father, Blas Lara; son, George Lara; and brother, Avcenio Lara.
Victor is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Naomi Lara; mother, Clemencia Lara; sons, Basilio Lara and wife, Eva, Joe Lara and Mike Lara and wife, Annie; daughters, Guadalupe Garza and husband, Roland, and Simona Gonzales and husband, Julian; seventeen grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Romaldo Lara, Isabelle Lara, Mike Lara, Maurico Lara, Robert Lara, Epifiano Lara and Marcel Lara; sisters, Juanita Lara, Andrea Herrera, Margarita Cruz and Mary DeLaGarza; along with other relatives and friends.
