Fr. Victor Frank Celio O.P., a Dominican Friar of St. Martin de Porres Province, died at the St Joseph Rectory in Ponchatoula, Louisiana on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at the age of 51.
He was born on January 18, 1959, in Dover, Delaware son of the late Frank and Nicholina E. Stellato Celio.
Father entered the Dominican Order on August 17, 1997 and was ordained a priest on May 30, 2002. He served in a variety of parish and special assignments between 2002 and 2010 including St Louis, Missouri; Houston, Texas; Dallas, Texas; Raleigh, North Carolina; New Orleans, Louisiana and Ponchatoula, Louisiana. Prior to his ministry, Father worked in the medical field as a Registered Nurse from 1979 to 1995.
Surviving is his brother, Dominic Celio, sister, Linda Celio Georgules, and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by brother, Frank Celio.
Visitation will be on Monday, October 25, 2010, from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm & Tuesday, October 26, 2010 8:30 am until 10:00 am at St Joseph Catholic Church in Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tuesday, at 10:00 am, with Fr. Christopher Eggleton, O.P. officiating.
Interment will follow in the Rosaryville Cemetery, Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
