Vincent M. LaGuardia, 75, of Tannersville, died Saturday, May 4, at Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Judith M. (Johns) LaGuardia with whom he shared 57 years of marriage on October 6, 2012. Born on October 29, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late James and Josephine (Stoccehetti) LaGuardia and lived in Monroe County since 1999 moving from Hawthorne, NJ. He served in the United States Airforce. Vince was a freight operations manager for American Airlines in New York and then later worked for Sea Trainlines and Copter Quick both in New Jersey. His last job was working at Martones Friendly Service Mobil Station in Hawthorne, NJ. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Roman Catholic Church, in Tannersville where he was an usher and belonged to the Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #12114 at Our Lady of Victory where he was a past Grand Knight and currently a Deputy Grand Knight. He also volunteered at the Villa of Our Lady in Mt. Pocono where he was the coordinator of volunteers. In addition to his wife he is survived by: five children, Rose Marie LaGuardia of NJ, Mary Ann Martone of NJ, Vincent M. LaGuardia, Jr. and his wife Janice of NJ, Denise Caputo and her husband Vincent of Saylorsburg and John A. LaGuardia and his wife Laurie of NJ; 13 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a sister, Theresa Scala of Brooklyn, NY and a nephew, Joseph Gallo and his wife Felicia of New York, NY. He was preceded in death by Mom Josephine, a sister, Marie Gallo. There will be viewing hours from 3:00 to 5:00PM and 7:00 to 8:30PM Tuesday, May 7, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. There will also be a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30AM on Wednesday, May 8, at Our Lady of Victory Roman Catholic Church, 327 Cherry Lane Road, Tannersville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30AM Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Richard Czachor as celebrant. Private cremation will take place following the Mass with burial at a later date in Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial remembrances be made to the Monroe County Diabetes Society, 502 VNA Road, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301.
