Violet Mae Bair, 81, of LaPorte, Indiana, passed away, Sunday January 30, 2011 at her home. She was born September 27, 1929 in LaPorte, Indiana, the daughter of Harvey Kellogg and Mable (Duncan) Kellogg. She lived in different areas of Indiana, and moved back to LaPorte in 1991. Violet worked for Federal Mogul for eleven years, retiring in 1991. She enjoyed bowling. Violet loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. On July 28, 1948, in LaPorte, IN, she married Charles H.Bair, Sr. who preceded her in death March 23, 1996. She is survived by her four sons - Charles (Cindy) Bair, Jr. of La Porte, IN, Dennis Bair of North Judson, IN, Steven (Teri) Bair of Philpot, KY, Forrest Bair of La Porte, IN; daughter - Wanda (David) Naylor of Boynton Beach, FL; eleven grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; brother - Harold Kellogg of Hamlet, IN; sister-in-law - Marjorie Iholts of Mishawaka, IN; brother-in-law - John Stachowski of Fish Lake, IN; several nieces and nephews. Violet was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Ruth Stachowski, Mildred Lawson. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Monday, January 31, 2011 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Tuesday, February 1, 2011 from 9:30 am until time of service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Tuesday February 1, 2011 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Jo Ellyn Chadwick officiating. Interment will follow at the Salem Cemetery, La Porte, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice of LaPorte P.O. Box 250 LaPorte, IN 46350.
