Virginia Edison Ashley, 92, died on August 18, 2011, at Virginia Beach Sentara. A native of Catawba County, NC, she was predeceased by her husband, Cecil Warren Ashley; brother, James; loving sister, Catherine; and her parents, James H. and Naomi L. Edison. Virginia was retired from Naval Air Reworks, Naval Air Station, Norfolk. She was a member of Miles Memorial Methodist Church, Norfolk. She was also a member of Virginia Eastern Star #22 and Ladies Oriental Shrine, Norfolk. Virginia is survived by four nieces, Elaine Benwitz, Diana Chase, Denise Tanner, and Rebecca Craven. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, August 22, 2011, Forest Lawn Cemetery. A visitation will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 21, 2011. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
