Mrs. Virginia Irene Rainey

I remember staying at her home when our kids were small 35 years ago and how welcome she made me feel. There was lots going on with all the children and adult children. She really made an impression on me.

I remember the summers when the entire family came to my in-laws place in R&R. A tent or 2 was pitched and what a good time we had for 2 weeks. Our family had just moved up here and it was so nice to have that to look forward to every summer. The kids would fish, "hunt" and just have an all around good time with their cousins. I wish I could share pictures of some of it but they were all lost in our fire so have nothing. It was fun and lots of memories.
Then there were the Christmas' when we still lived in So. Ca. With all those kids, Christmas Eve was a mad house. Hank, my husband, was always overwhelmed. Being an only child, he just was amazed at how two parents could do so much and show so much love for so many.

My Grandma worked on the capital campaign of St. Frances Cabrini in the 50s. She was visited by Mr. Rainey for a donation to the Communion Rails. I found the booklet and note from him in my Grandma's stuff after her death. I gave it to Mrs. Rainey and she told me how hard her hubby worked for the Church after his regular day job! Both of us were touched!
