Virginia M. Evangelista, 79, of the 400 block of Woodview Ave., Norfolk, VA, passed away Feb. 3, 2012, in a local hospital. She was born in Cotabato, Philippines and was the daughter of the late Mariano and Irene Mojica. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Gill R. Evangelista. She was a homemaker and member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Virginia is survived by four sons, Gener M. Evangelista and wife Mirasol of Virginia Beach, VA, Arthur M. Evangelista and wife Zoraida of California, Roger M. Evangelista and wife Donna of Norfolk, VA and Victor M. Evangelista of Connecticut; and nine grandchildren, Richard, Ulysses, Ian, Casey, Adam, Danielle, Darrell, Justin and Mervyn. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, in St. Pius X Catholic Church by the Rev. Fr. Nixon Negparanon. Burial will be at a later date in the Philippines. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
