Virginia Mildred Davis, 96, of Chesapeake, VA, passed away January 1, 2012. A native of Charles County, MD, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Sarah Bowie, and the widow of Thomas B. Davis. She retired as Dispersing Travel Agent for the US Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division. She was a member of Community Church of Chesapeake. She was a longtime member of Indian Head St. James Episcopal Church. She was a member of Indian Head Grace Chapter #21, Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Hardesty and husband Paul; two sisters, Norma L. Swann of Indian Head, MD and Nettie M. Williams of Silver Spring, MD; four grandchildren, Kimberly Barnhill, Jeffrey Hardesty, Thomas Hardesty and Daniel Hardesty; ten great-grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren; a special niece, Susie Krikstan; and a host of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Community Church of Chesapeake. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel is handling the arrangements.
