Virginia Wright Sadler Richardson, 92, went to be with the "Lord her husband and son Tuesday April 26, 2011." She was a native of Petersburg, Va., and the daughter of Dora and Peter Sadler. She was a devoted member of Centenary United Methodist Church, Ester Chapter No. 37 Order of the Eastern Star, Portsmouth Woman's Club, Scottish Rite Ladies, the Women of the Moose and the Beasley Senior Center. Virginia was predeceased by her husband, J. Hamilton "Ham" Richardson and son, Gary. She is survived by three sisters, Rebecca Douglas of Gloucester, Amelia Blackburn of Richmond and Nancy James of Colonial Heights; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Virginia's life will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Centenary United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at Loving Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, Sunday from 2:30 to 4 p.m. with an Eastern Star service starting at 2:30 p.m. She suggested memorial contributions to Centenary United Methodist Church or to the Martha Davis Cancer Center.
