Virginia S. Vogel, 66, of Vienna, WV went to be with her Lord Tuesday March 31, 2009 at her residence. She was born in Norfolk, VA a daughter of the late Carlos and Adeline (Jones) Snyder.
She was a homemaker and a life member of Woodmen of the World, Lodge #1. She was Past President of West Vriginia and served as a National Delegate. She graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1960 and was a member of Cornerstone Gospel Church. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, Rainbow Girls, and Nu Theta Lamba. She also volunteered for Care Line and the Auction Committee for S.W. Resources. She was a member of Worthington Womens Golf League, where she had served as Past President and Parliamentarian. She was a loving mother and wife and enjoyed caring for her family.
She is survived by her husband of forty-eight years Herman Joseph Vogel; three children Herman J. "Chip" Vogel, III and his wife Kelly of Spartanburg, SC, and Sheila K. and Sharon S. Vogel both of Vienna; three grandchlidren Jordan Pucci, Zachary Vorgel, and Brianne Vogel; a brother John Snyder of Walker, WV; and a sister Ruth Crew of Vienna.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother James Snyder, and sister Alice Johnson.
Services will be Saturday 1:00 PM at Cornerston Gospel Church with Pastor Rick Kapple and Terri Caldwell officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg and one hour prior to the service at the church.
